Coach Ray has been a continuous part of NRG Swimming since 1991, taking over as NRG’s head coach in 2009, he began coaching for NRG in 2002, learning under Elite Coaches and NRG Founders Bill and Kathy Trabosh and has, in his tenure, coached all levels and age groups, from the 8 and under Minis to the Senior Elite. Coach Ray has also spent time mentoring under other successful coaches around the country as well.
Coach Ray’s deep personal commitment to NRG Swimming has him focused and researching new techniques and ideas to keep NRG fresh, current, and constantly improving. His other credentials include ASCA and USA swimming coaching memberships, as well as continuing to maintain the lead Red Cross swim instructor position for Neshaminy Aquatics and working as a independant advisor for several aquatics programs.
Coach Ray swam for NRG prior to becoming a member of the coaching staff, and was a part of the team that won the Franklin and Marshall Holiday Classic. Coach Ray was also recently inducted into the Neshaminy Sports Hall of Fame in 2009, for his accomplishments as a member of the Neshaminy High School swim team.
Coach Ray has a deep personal commitment to NRG Swimming. Swimming has been an integral part of his life for many years and he integrates the personal lessons of focus, commitment, success, and team spirit into the NRG program. In his role as head coach he will be involved in all aspects of the team including giving personal attention to all swimmers, with a strong focus.
